CAUTION

May be harmful if swallowed or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling.

FIRST AID

IF ON SKIN Wash with plenty of soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation persists.
IF IN EYES Flush eyes with plenty of water, call a physician if irritation persists.
IF INHALED Remove victim to fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration, preferably mouth to mouth. Get medical attention.

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS

Do not apply directly to water or areas where surface water is present or intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water when cleaning equipment or disposing of equipment wash waters.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL STATEMENTS

Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal.
PESTICIDE STORAGE: Store in original container, in a cool, dry area.
PESTICIDE DISPOSAL: Wastes resulting from the use of this product may be disposed of on site or at an approved waste disposal facility.
CONTAINER DISPOSAL: Remove all dispensers for application. Then dispose of empty bag in a sanitary landfill or by incineration or if allowed by State and local authorities by burning. If burned, stay out of smoke.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
1. CROP: cranberries
2. PEST: Sparganothis fruitworm (Sparganothis sulfureana)
3. APPLICATION: The MSTRS® SS dispensers must be attached to stakes within the crop at a height of 1.5 feet above the crop canopy, at a density of 7 - 10 dispensers per acre, depending on the size of the area to be treated. Dispensers are spaced every 25 yards around the perimeter of every 10 - 15 acre section of one or more cranberry beds. Transects must begin 100 yards from the edge of the 10 - 15 acre section. Further transects are made at 100 yard spacings.
As promulgated at 40 CFR 180.1153 DO NOT EXCEED the rate of 150 grams of active ingredient per acre per year.
4. TIMING: Deploy MSTRS® SS immediately prior to the first emergence of fruitworm moths in early summer. The dispensers will emit effective amounts of pheromone for 60 days.
5. NOTE: [i] MSTRS® SS impedes the mating of the fruitworm moths in cranberry marshes. If pest population densities are excessively high disruption of mating will be less effective. At high population densities insecticide applications are advised to reduce population to manageable levels.
[ii] Treating larger areas gives a geometrical advantage in coverage of the cranberry beds by plumes of pheromone and reduces the number of dispensers per acre. Treating large areas also reduces the risk of mated females flying into treated areas from neighboring untreated beds.
[iii] MSTRS® SS will not work well on small ( < 1 acre) cranberry beds that are isolated from other larger MSTRS® SS treated beds due to the high edge / area ratio.
[iv] Monitoring of fruitworm males using pheromone traps is recommended in treated areas. As a general rule, pheromone trap monitoring of other pest species must be done so that timely intervention is possible.
